For ~esoteric-memories's fanfic "HinaSasuIno" [link] -- I hope you like it!

This is the best team overhaul story I've ever come across. And funny as all get out--with Sasuke being the lone male on his team (his Jounin sensei is Kurenai), you almost feel bad for him. Then you realize it's actually GOOD for him because he's such an angry, vengeful little boy. If he had supportive teammates like Ino and Hinata, he wouldn't leave Konoha.

Anyways, I recommend reading the story. It focuses much more on the kids, and how they grow up with each other, unlike the canon story.

As for the actual piece...it started out with flat colors. Then it picked up a bit of cel-shading because I thought it'd look nifty. Then, after I did that ShikaHina banner, I completely re-did the shading to look a bit softer. And Hinata's hair...I tried doing so many things to it to show shininess similar to what they do in the anime, but that block look wasn't working well with everything else in the picture. I think I figured out something that works well though...

Top picture is the initial team picture that everyone takes, but I omitted Kurenai. Hinata's intimidated about being put on a team with the top kunoichi and the top rookie of her class; Ino is just in-your-face, with a bit of a forced, aggressive grin; Sasuke is a brat and thinks he's too good for his team.

Bottom picture is right before their Chuunin Exam. Ino and Hinata bought new outfits earlier, and I have to say, ~esoteric-memories has got good fashion sense. They're entirely her design; all I did was come up with the cut of Ino's mesh shirt and the embroidered pattern on Hinata's shirt. Anyways, Ino looks much more relaxed and genuine; Hinata looks more confident (her place in the middle reflects her position as team leader, which both Ino and Sasuke decided for her), and her hair is growing out, as per an agreement she had with Ino--Ino will only grow her hair if Hinata grows hers; Sasuke has a smile-smirk hybrid going on and he actually looks content with his team. And the really really slight, squint-to-see-it SasuHina-ness was done on purpose...you have to read the story to get it!

Yamanaka Ino, Hyuuga Hinata, and Uchiha Sasuke belong to Kishimoto Masashi. "HinaSasuIno" belongs to ~esoteric-memories.
